Andreas Schwab is a Professor, Dean's Fellow and the Director of Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Programs in the Ivy College of Business at Iowa State University. He studies learning in entrepreneurial ecosystems focused on project ventures, digital platforms, and women entrepreneurs. He is also engaged in several initiatives to advance methodological practices in the management field by promoting analyses beyond statistical significance tests and introducing scholars to Bayesian statistics and replication analyses.
His research has been published in the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Business Venturing, American Journal of Sociology, Organization Science, Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, Family Business Review, Academy of Management Learning and Education, Group and Organization Management, Strategic Organization, Industrial and Corporate Change, Industrial Relations, and other outlets. He serves on the editorial boards of Journal of Management, Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, Organization Research Methods, Group and Organization Management, and Asian Journal of Technology Management. His research has been supported by the National Science Foundation, U.S. Navy, ACR/Australian Government, and U.S. Fulbright Commission.
He is the current Chair- of the Research Methods Division of the Academy of Management (AOM) and a former chair of the Research Method Community at the Strategic Management Society (SMS). He served as contributing editor for research methods for Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice (2015-17) and chaired the awards committee of the AOM Research Methods Division (2016-2018). He is an ambassador for the Center of Open Science (COS) and an Advisory Board Member of the Consortium for Advancement of Research Methods & Analysis (CARMA). He received his Ph.D. in management from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
